The RF8135R-s active RFID RS232 receiver module receives data sent from RF8315T modules. This low-cost receiver module requires no external power supply (some pc or notebook may require external 9V power input). Data received will be sent to RS232  com port. Standard communication software such as Hyperterninal  can read the data. Custom program can read data from com port for system integration or application development. An included ActiveX control makes the application integration simple and fast.

Two elder care centers in Hong Kong are using these devices to monitor who are inside the centers. The data is sent out to the central server via gprs and is used for attendance reporting, daily diet manual preparation and SMS will be sent to officers-in-charge when they leave the main gate during monitoring hours.

Technical Notes,  RF8315R-s Active RFID RS232 receiver

Superheterodyne design is the most stable but expensive design. This is particular suitable for challenging working conditions such as strong wind, serious raining and fast moving objects. Although this design has so many advantages, it cannot receive short distance signal (within 1 meter). As a result this receiver cannot report the ID send by RD8315T within 1 meter.
